Ke'alaokamaile includes powerful chants, haunting
ballads, and tight collaborations within a framework of honoring
the ancestors who came before. Each song selected speaks of
places or people fundamental to Keali'i's growing years --
tributes to his Tutu, his grandfather, and his grandmother,
Kamaile, for whom the album is named.
This musical autobiography unfolds like the pages of a scrapbook,
carrying the listener through a range of events and emotions.
Within its pages are history and humor, love stories and lullabies,
laughter and tears.
Ke'alaokamaile delivers some of Keali'i's most mature, inspired,
and introspective work to date. The Maui News calls it "a
beautiful, moving tribute...a work of love honoring the lineage
of one of Hawai'i's most popular artists."
